Farber Hebrew Day School - Yeshivat Akiva is seeking an exceptional candidate for a long-term elementary teaching position. This is a part-time position beginning mid-February for 8-10 weeks. Hour are approximately 11:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday-Friday. There is a possibility of filling this as a full-time position for an ideal candidate. Candidates must have current Michigan teaching certification. Teaching experience preferred.
The elementary teacher is responsible for planning instructional activities that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students, and strives to create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning by employing creative and effective instructional techniques. The teacher is committed to providing outstanding educational experiences and aim to inspire students’ passion for learning.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional lessons that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment, observe, evaluate, encourage and provide feedback on student's performance and development.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development preparing required reports on students and activities.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Actively listen to student questions and concerns and address individual learning needs.
- Report to lunch, recess, and/or hall duty on a timely basis as required.
- If assigned lunch, recess, and/or hall duty, monitor students during including watching and listening for potential issues.
- Receive routine, ongoing feedback and support from an outstanding leadership team
- Promote a collaborative teaching environment where all responsibilities are managed with a team-oriented approach.
